What is known
dies at the edge.
Every session, every file, every connection inspected inline, at the point of presence closest to the user. Janus tells you which catch mattered. And with Argus Collective Defense, a threat seen at one customer becomes known to all of them.
Not one more box.
Three things that already work together.
Line 1 sits where traffic enters and leaves your organization: at the edge. It is not a new appliance. It combines the inline security services you run on the Open Systems platform with two AI agents that make the edge faster and smarter.
Inspect: the Security Service Edge checks web sessions, files, email and connections inline, against curated threat intelligence that includes zero-day indicators. Triage: Janus, the AI specialist for the web and email gateway, tells you in one sentence whether a catch mattered. Share: Argus turns a threat pattern seen at one customer into protection for all of them, patterns only, never customer data.

Argus: seen at one customer, known to all. Rolling out.
What happens to every connection.
Inspection runs inline, at the point of presence closest to the user, with no backhauling to a central data center. Every check below is a Live service of the Open Systems SSE, activated and enforced from one Mission Control portal.
- 01ZTNAWho is askingEvery user and device authenticated, authorized and continuously validated.
- 02SWGEncrypted traffic, openedTLS interception applies malware protection and browsing policy to encrypted traffic.
- 03ATPKnown indicatorsCurated threat intelligence feeds deliver indicators of compromise in real time, including zero-day ones.
- 04SandboxUnknown filesA neural network over 8,600 file attributes, built into web and email scanning.
- 05CASBCloud appsRisk scores for over 9,000 cloud applications, with real-time visibility into usage.
- 06FirewallNetwork threatsA curated block list and built-in intrusion detection on the edge firewall.
- 07EmailMail before deliveryZero-hour phishing, thread hijacking, malicious QR codes and BEC attempts blocked before delivery.
One indicator, every channel: an indicator seen in mail is already blocked on the web, because indicators land in one central database and enforcement follows across web, DNS and email.
Every catch answers one question:
did it matter?
Your gateways catch things all day: a blocked download, a quarantined attachment, a SaaS app someone tried to use. Janus, the AI specialist for the web and email gateway, triages every catch and separates the routine from the incident.
- Triages every Secure Web and Email Gateway catch: phishing, risky SaaS, blocked downloads
- Tells you in one sentence whether it mattered, and why
- Surfaces the real attempt hiding in a day of routine blocks
- Links straight to the evidence in the portal, no console-diving

Weak alone.
Loud together.
An inline check is only as good as what counts as known. And an attacker probing four companies looks harmless to each of them: a rejected SSH login here, a failed sign-in there, a blocked download, a blocked web attack.
Argus sees all four. It correlates weak signals from all customers into one verdict, and an attacker seen at one customer is blocked at every customer’s edge. Patterns only, never customer data, and only where compliance allows.
- 01 · SignalsWeak signals from the edge, across all customers, scored in real time.
- 02 · VerdictAI judges weigh the evidence like a security analyst and explain why.
- 03 · Block everywhereMalicious? Blocked at every customer’s edge, not just the one that was hit.
Machine speed.
Your call.
- Learns across our entire customer base: a suspicious signal seen at one customer protects all the others.
- You see your own traffic live: IPs, paths, the full trail.
- Reacts in real time: counters automatically or waits for human release. Your call.
- Push notifications included.
- Built to keep false positives low, so every alert is worth reading.
- Every verdict explained: the evidence and the reasoning come with it, not just a score.
- Nothing sticks by mistake: blocks expire automatically and can be undone.
Argus is a separate offering that you choose to enable, available with the AIOps and Mission Control operating models. It is rolling out now; ask us about the current scope. Compare the operating models
We have shared what we block for years.
Argus is the AI-native step of something Open Systems has done for a long time. Since 2018, blocking one malicious domain is automatically enforced across email, web and DNS. Indicators of compromise, including zero-day, zero-hour and zero-minute ones, are distributed to every edge as they arrive.
A key advantage is our ability to aggregate and anonymize data across multiple customers. This enables us to detect threats early and implement preventive measures for others, forming a collective defense that continuously improves with each new insight.
The edge stops the known.
The inside catches the rest.
No edge stops everything. That is why there is a second line: Apate fills your network with credible decoys, and any touch of a decoy exposes the intruder who got through.
What is live, what is rolling out.
We would rather lose a deal on that answer than win one on a demo of something that does not ship.
Questions, answered.
Is every connection really inspected?
Does Collective Defense share my data with other customers?
Does Argus block automatically?
Can a block be undone?
